“Pranayama is control of Breath”.  Prana is breath or fundamental vitality in the body. Prana represents pranic energy that is responsible for life. One can control the flow of pranic intensity and attain a healthy mind and soul. Five types of Prana are responsible for different pranic practices in the body, such as Prana, Apana, Vyan, Udana and Samana. Two of the most important are Prana and Apana.

  • The Enteric Nervous System: This system is the connection between the Gut and the Brain. Therefore, it is also known as “Gut Brain”. There is more nervous tissue in the intestinal region to do with the enteric nervous system than in the spinal cord. There is a more nervous tissue in the intestines than in cat’s brain. The enteric nervous system controls digestion. It is located in the sheaths of tissue lining in the Esophagus, Stomach, Small intestine and Colon. It is considered as a solitary element it is a system of neurons, neurotransmitters and proteins.
  • The Sympathetic Nervous System: This controls the fight or flight response. So it assembles the body for foreseen danger or struggle. It causes the increase in Blood Pressure when the body is aroused.
  • The Parasympathetic Nervous System:This system is for relaxation and recovery. When aroused it cases the Blood Pressure to decrease.
